Car accident marriage proposal

August 31st, 2008 by

I had the ring bought, I was just waiting for the right time. We went to a movie in a nearby town, and on the way home I was driving her new car. It did not even have 10000kms, and I hit a deer and wrote it off. She was very depressed, I asked her if there was anything I could do to make it better, she said “no” Then I went down on one knee. There was one thing that made it better. The car didn’t matter after that.

In the sand marriage proposal

August 28th, 2008 by

For my marriage proposal I took my girlfriend on a Cruise with my family and I. While on Grand Cayman, we went to 7 mile beach, went paddle boating and all the fun stuff. Then her and I wondered off from the crowds of people. My little brother tagged along taking pictures and such. While we were sitting on the beach just enjoying the view and each other, my little brother wondered off to “make a sandcastle” (We set some of it up previously so I could have him go write in the sand for me) After a few minutes he came back and we went to look at his sand castle. Well of course it wasn’t a sand castle, it said “WILL YOU MARRY ME” in the sand. Of course she said yes and we were all lovey dovey and stuff. But that’s not what makes the story so interesting. Of course we were in swimsuits, so I had limited places to put the ring. My shorts luckily had a nice zipper pocket with an elastic tie in it. I tied the ring to the tie and well when I went to untie it, it was stuck. After an intense struggle to untie the ring, I was finally able to put it on her finger, at least it fit.

Marry the girl!

August 22nd, 2008 by

Well, we had lived together for about 13 years and one day our 8 year old asked me “Why don’t you marry Daddy?” So I did and we all went on a honeymoon to pre-Katrina New Orleans.

Marriage proposal on the front lawn

August 17th, 2008 by

Keegan had flown down that weekend from Saskatchewan to come ask me to marry him. I already knew it was coming because we had our wedding planned, date planned, everything was planned out. The only thing was I had no idea when he would do it. So after a half an hour or my mom telling me to go show Keegan how the ceremony was going to go. (We got married on my front lawn).
I told him to stand in between the two big trees, as I pretended to walk down the aisle as a bride. (Very awkward) Out of nowhere he’s like man my heart is beating so fast. Me being as clueless as I am thought nothing of it and was like “why?” so I finally make it to where he was, and we’re sitting there holding hands, and I started to get nervous because it was becoming so real to me. I notice him put his hand in his pocket and I turned away and was like “this is where the bridesmaids are going to be.” when I turned back around he was on his knee with the ring…and I froze, walked towards him. I had no idea what I was suppose to do on TV and movies they always show what the guy does but is the girl suppose to just stand there? So without really thinking I got on my knees and just starred at him…watched as his mouth was moving, didn’t hear what he was saying cause I kept thinking, now its happening now. Next thing I know he’s like “why did you get on your knee?” I loved it because he asked me to marry him on the very spot we became husband and wife.

Marriage Proposal (sort of)

August 16th, 2008 by

My husband and I had been living together for several years and had been barraged with the “when are you going to get married” inquiries for quite a while. Once when asked Alton looked at me and said we should do it that year. I said fine, just give me a date. The year ended and I went home to visit my parents for the holidays. Upon my return he asked me if we weren’t supposed to get married. I said yes but you never gave me a date. He came home from work the next day and told me he was taking vacation the second full week in August. I asked if that was when we were getting married, he said no that was when he was taking vacation. Psyche.

Fighting Marriage Proposal

August 5th, 2008 by

My girlfriend and I had only been dating for 3 months and we had our first “real argument”. I said “I do love you, enough to marry you!” and she said “Ok, then do it!” and I replied: “Ok I WILL!” we married one month later and that was 7 months ago today. We are expecting our first child together this October! Sometimes fate just flies right out of your mouth! We could not be happier.

Marriage Proposa do over

July 30th, 2008 by

Well, I simply went to my local Hallmark and got a packet of wedding invitations and filled one out as needed. Made it out to be as an invite to our wedding with a date as what ever we come up with. Well at her parents house while we all where in the living room just sitting around talking, waited for the perfect moment of silence with no one talking and I pulled the card out and handed it to her. She then got all blushed and thought she was jus getting a random card for some reason and she opened it and when she look at it she paused with just the biggest look of surprise. Then I went down to one knee and pulled the ring out and asked. Then she looked at her parents and looked down at me with a yes! Since then she’s run off with my brother so…now just thinking of something to top that with my current girlfriend of almost two years..

Marriage proposal the border

July 28th, 2008 by

My mother-in-law-to-be was taking me out to dinner. (Nothing abnormal about that since my fiance to be was out of town for three days…or so I thought). We were driving down some back roads and I looked out the window towards a large piece of acreage and there was a piano just sitting there with no one around. We turned the corner and there he was with a bouquet of flowers. His mom dropped me off and drove away. Eric took me into the field and played and sang the song that he wrote. Then he got down on one knee and proposed. When I said yes, the photographer and videographer came out of hiding. Eric had borrowed a dress and heels for me and I got dressed in the “limo van” then whisked me off to the Teahouse Restaurant in Stanley Park. This was all so surreal… the best part was hearing the story before I got there. Eric and his friends parked and unloaded the van on “0″ avenue which happens to be the border between Canada and the States and a favorite place of some drug smugglers. Well, as soon as he started unloading the piano 2 cop cars from the Canadian side and 3 cop cars from the US side surrounded them. They just laughed and called it in to tell the station all about it when they searched Eric and only found a diamond ring in his sock.

Tatoo marriage proposal

July 22nd, 2008 by

I proposed by having my tattoo artist make up a tattoo stencil saying “Will you Marry Me?” I had the artist apply it away from her view, then called her back to see what she thought was going to be a tattoo I wanted. The tattoo stencil was on one of my calves so I was down on one knee when I showed it to her. Thankfully she said yes.
