SO. Here’s how it went down:
I usually wake up before 5am and am out the door before 6 am to go to work. Gellian supposedly leaves around 7 for work, so I figured I could drive off, then sneak back into the house and surprise her.
iIgot a fog machine, dancing disco lights, had my old busted up guitar fixed, and borrowed some Elvis. Funny thing, that song. I was looking up one song, but somehow this other Elvis song showed up. I never heard of it before, but it listed the chord progression and lyrics. I made up my own melody, and used a capo higher than normal because I have a weakling voice.
So after Ronny helped me set up and left, I sat around downstairs waiting. I thought she left for 7 to go to work, but it was 7:10 and it was getting bright outside. I was afraid that the sunlight would kill the special effects. so, I called her up pretending to be at work, and told her I left the toaster oven on because I was warming it up for Poptarts I never put in.
I heard her get up and walk to the bedroom doors, so I let the fog machine loose all over the foyer. When the doors opened, I hit the two big disco lights, the music (Goldfinger - more today than yesterday), and started dancing the dancing like a fool all over the place haha!
So she came down the stairs and we danced to the music. Then I cut the music and whipped out the guitar. I sang my song about how I felt, and then busted out the ring. I popped the question and put it on her hand. Then I realized I forgot to say the speech, so I took it back off and then got down on one knee. Then I didn’t remember what the speech was, so I put it back on her finger and punched the music back on.
We stood around for a bit, smelled the flowers, and posed for some pictures.
And that’s how it went down.
