My girlfriend Jennifer and I knew we were going to get married. We even went shopping for rings. We found her perfect ring, and it was on sale, but I didn’t want to buy it right then and there. I wanted it to be a surprise. Valentine’s Day was a few days away and I knew that was the day to surprise her. We talked with the salesman for a bit and he had some doubts about having it in time for Valentine’s Day, so Jennifer looked a little disappointed. The next day, I went back to the store and bought the ring. I couldn’t have it sized because it wouldn’t be ready in time. So now that I had the ring, I needed to think of a good way to propose. I cannot keep secrets to save my life, and when it comes to gifts, I always let something slip. So Valentine’s Day came and I went to school with Jennifer as always, but I made sure that I drove today. While she was in class, I went to the mall to search for something to do with the ring. I walked past a Godiva store and it hit me! I saw these red hear boxes that you could pick your own chocolates to fill. I filled the box up and decided I was going to hide the ring in the chocolate box! I asked the people at the Godiva shop if that had anything to hold the ring with, and to no surprise they didn’t. I ended up getting a jewelry box from one of the stores and just used the foam holder. We got home and I gave her the gift. She looked a little disappointed, I think she was expecting the ring itself. She read the card and didn’t open the box. I told her I picked the chocolates out myself and that she should try one. Reluctantly, she finally opened the box and her face lit up in the blink of an eye. She immediately started crying and I knew she’d be bragging about me for a long time to come.
