Ray Charles Concert Marriage Proposal

My husband surprised me when he proposed to me. We had been looking at rings, but he hadn’t asked me to marry him yet. We had bought tickets to the Ray Charles concert, and unbeknownst to me he contacted the promoter to get us better seats.  We decided to go out to a restaurant for dinner before the concert.  We went to a really nice restaurant. Todd ate very quickly and was rushing me through dinner.  He ate his dinner in about five minutes and asked me if I was finished.  Of course I said no, I still had 3⁄4 of my food on my plate.  He said he didn’t want to be late for the concert, so he rushed me out of the restaurant.  (This is nothing new; he hates sitting in restaurants)  We walked to the concert from the restaurant.  We listened to the opening act. During the break, the promoter got on stage and thanked the newspaper and radio stations for advertising the concert.  Then she said “There is a guy here and he really loves his girl friend.  He wants to ask her to marry him.  His name is Todd Jacques.”  As she said that, a spotlight was put on us.  Todd got down on his knees and asked me to marry him. Everyone clapped. The lady behind us grabbed my hand.  She said “let me see your ring.” I had to tug hard on my hand to get it back.  After the concert we went to our friend’s house. I showed them my ring.   They said “very pretty, but Todd already showed us yesterday.” Just a bit of a let down.
