I proposed in Savannah, GA when I had a weekend off from Airborne School. My girlfriend, now wife, came to visit me and we stayed at a Marriott. I had been spending my nights off getting all my ducks in a row for her anticipated trip and the excitement I knew would come from it. I had been in contact with the hotel staff and they were ready and willing to help me in any way I needed. The first night we were together, I told her that we were going out to a nice formal dinner. After we got ready and went to the lobby to wait for our “taxi” I signaled to the hotel receptionist and told my girlfriend I had forgotten something in the room. I ran up to the room and started preparations. When I came back downstairs, there was a beautiful limo waiting for us. After a nice dinner, we went back to the room. My girlfriend went in first and looked puzzled at the Hershey kisses trial starting at our door. I told her she should probably follow this candy trail. The trail led her to the bathroom where a heart made of the kisses had an arrow shooting through it and pointing to the shower. She pulled back the curtain to see a wonderful bouquet tied to the showerhead and a note that said, ” If I kiss the ground you walk on and shower you with roses will you… (turn around)” I was on one knee and she said yes.
